Meet Our Bride: Krystal

My experience at Madeleine's Daughter was just what I hoped it would be! Private room, fantastic stylist and beautiful dress choices! I went to Madeleine's as my first stop because I knew they would have it all, little did I know that it would be my one and only stop! I knew what I had in mind and they matched my description perfectly, my dress was exactly what I pictured and more! I would send any bride to Madeleine's Daughter not only because of the choices but the overall experience is what every bride deserves!

Meet Our Bride: Alyssa

My experience with Madeliene's Daughter was nothing less than exceptional. I worked with Kristin whom I was referred to by a bride she worked with who happened to be my maid of honor's older sister. She knew exactly what I was looking for and knew what would look best on my body. I felt she was genuinely excited for me to find something that I loved and understood when I needed to think about it. Ultimately, my dress was the first dress I tried on and the only dress I truly loved.

Madeleine's Daughter was a huge part of my wedding process. I had never tried on a wedding dress when I walked in the door and on my third dress I knew I didn't need to try on anymore! All the staff at Madeleine's was wonderful and made my experience one I will always remember. On top of the fantastic experience I had my mom also found her dream dress and we both got to enjoy our fittings together. As a bride that lives in Virginia but got married in New Hampshire I knew that having a place that would work around my crazy schedule would be very important, and that is exactly what I found. Thank you all for the amazing attention to detail and making me a very happy bride!

Meet Our Bride: Stephanie

Truthfully, I was heading into my appointment at Madeleine's Daughter without many expectations... A family friend had purchased her gown at Madeleine's Daughter the year prior, and my mom thought it would be a nice place to start since my sister was going to be home visiting from New Mexico and it's an easy drive up from Boston where she lives.  Since it was going to be the very first time I had ever tried bridal gowns on, I really just thought it would be a nice experience to share with my mom and sister, and also to get an idea of what silhouettes work for me....All the while in the back of my mind I essentially decided that there wouldn't be anything "my style" there. Well, I was obviously wrong!

We were warmly greeted and made to feel comfortable as soon as we arrived... The stylist I worked with listened to what I was looking for and brought gowns matching my description that were within my budget. Never did I feel rushed or pushed into something I didn't want.  I had a general vision of my gown in my mind and wouldn't you know there were TWO dresses that I LOVED; however, in true bride-to-be fashion , I liked the fabric and silhouette of the first and the straps of the second.  Luckily, the two dresses came from the same the designer, so the staff simply called the designer and asked if it would be possible to integrate the gowns and the rest is history... I never thought I'd find my gown at the very first place I looked, but Madeleine's Daughter had what I envisioned and I could not have been more happy on the day of my wedding. Thank you!!

FACT or FICTION: Wedding Attire Myths

This post is the last in our "Fact or Fiction" series that is designed to help educate all of our brides, both current and future. In each post, we've de-bunked some common myths relating to the bridal industry. Today we'll tack another:

FACT or FICTION: You shouldn't buy the first dress you put on at the first store you visit and you definitely shouldn't buy a dress if you don't cry when you put it on.

Yet again, we've got a very common misconception that many brides succumb to. In this case, you'll find your friends and family discouraging you from purchasing a dress because "it's the first one you tried on- there are so many others to try on!" For some reason, many brides feel like it's not okay to purchase the first dress they try on! But did you know that in our shop, approximately 60% of our brides buy the first dress they try on with us and 80% buy their dress at their first appointment.

And while it's true that many brides (and their families) cry when they put on "the one," if you don't have that moment, it doesn't make your choice any less authentic! Follow your instincts. If you think it's "the one," then it probably is. For many brides, the moment they cry comes afterwards- maybe it's when they try on a veil with the dress, or maybe it's not until after their fittings when the dress finally fits properly. Regardless, just because you don't cry over a dress doesn't mean it isn't the one. Ask yourself these questions:

Do I love it?
Can I see myself getting married in this dress?
Do I want to try on any other dresses?

If you answered yes, yes and no, then chances are pretty good it's the one! Go for it and don't look back!

We hope you've enjoyed our "fact or fiction" series. Did we cover all the topics relevant to you? Do you have other questions about the wedding-planning process or shopping for a bridal gown? Leave a comment and we'll be glad to answer any questions you might have!

Meet Our Bride: Nickole

In my quest to find the dress, Madeldine's Daughter was the second and final bridal boutique I went to. I went to Madeleine's during an Allure trunk show which gave me the opportunity to try on several Allure dresses not normally in stock. After trying on 3 or 4 dresses I began to feel hopeless. I had tried 20 dresses on at the first boutique and did not find one I loved.  My stylist, Kristin, could see my dismay and offered to make a suggestion based on my feedback of the first 4. She left my private fitting room, came back with 2 suggested dresses and the second one was the one. It was a great feeling to know some one was actually listening to what I was saying. I ended up in a trumpet gown and I would have NEVER got there without Kristin's suggestion. Thank you!!

Meet Our Bride: Kerri

Here's another fun BONUS "Meet Our Bride" post for your enjoyment! We just have SO many brides who have sent us photos and testimonials and we really would love to feature every single one of them. There aren't enough Saturdays in the year to cover even a fraction of the emails we receive, so we're expanding this series to happen a little more frequently.

Today we're excited for you to meet Kerri!

I have only the best things to say about my experience at Madeleine's Daughter. I shopped around at a variety of bridal shops for the perfect dress. A friend referred me to your shop and I am so glad she did. I had the best experience from start to finish. It was Brandie that I worked with to find my dress and she took my input for my perfect dress. She did not go over budget which was very important to me and I am very happy that she respected my dress budget where many shops did not. I also love how she brought a variety of dresses for me to look at. I originally wanted a strapless dress but she brought in a Pronovias dress that had straps on it and it wasn't something I thought I would like, but when I tried it on, it was perfect! I has my alterations done there as well and had a very smooth, wonderful experience from purchasing the dress to alterations to picking up the dress. Thank you so much again for helping to make my wedding day perfect. I loved my dress!

Meet Our Bride: Lindsay

Madeleine's Daughter was the first place I looked for my wedding dress, just about a week after I had gotten engaged. I thought this first appointment would just be to browse dresses and find a style or two that I liked--I never thought that I was going to find THE dress. I tried on a total of 5 bridal gowns during my appointment, with the 3rd gown I tried on being the one I purchased before I left- for a great price might I add! My stylist was so helpful in bringing me dresses that matched the description of what I was looking for, but also using her expertise to bring in dresses she knew would look great on my body type. Most importantly, my stylist only showed me dresses within my established budget! I never thought I would walk down the aisle in the style of dress that I did, but I am so glad that I trusted Madeleine's Daughter to help me in making this decision. I felt so beautiful -and comfortable- in my dress on the big day, thank you for finding me my dream dress!
