All that Glitters.. The DIY Breakdown from Our Autumn Window Display

Hello, Friends!

This season’s window display was inspired by Jean-Honore Fragonard’s painting “The Swing” and the Palace of Versailles.

We know the DIY bride is out there, and if you’re ready to roll up your sleeves we’ve divulged how to recreate the gold garland for your own wedding, reception, or rehearsal dinner below:

Supplies:
Metallic gold spray paint, either Krylon or Rust-Oleum brands (avoid options that include a primer)
Foliage garland
Wire
Wire Cutters
Drop Cloths

Steps:
Arrange foliage on drop cloths outside
Hold spray can about 12” from foliage and coat until desired gold hue*
* I used enough to make the leaves look like metal – our entire display took about 24 cans to complete
After paint has dried, wire-wrap strands of sprayed foliage together until desired length
Create wire loops at different points on the foliage strand to hang

Enjoy!
Brandie
