Meet Our Bride: Emily

Thank you for such an incredible experience finding my perfect dress.  When I started shopping, I never envisioned myself as the kind of person who would try on a dress and just “know.”  I had ideas in mind of what I thought I would like, but wasn’t feeling all that confident about the process.  When I tried on my first dress (at a discounted dress shop) I thought, “It fits and looks okay, so this should work fine.”  What a difference it made coming to Madeleine’s Daughter!  When I walked into the shop for the first time, I immediately felt comfortable.  The staff was so welcoming and their genuine excitement for me and for my family made me feel so special.  Sadie, Gigi, and Kristin, were all incredible to work with, and I so appreciated their honesty and attention to detail.  Sadie’s expertise in terms of my body type, my style, and the classic look I desired made it possible for her to find the perfect dress for me and still stay inside my budget.  I was taken aback by how beautiful I felt when I actually stepped into ‘the one’ (Maggie Sottero’s Lorie dress).  I was so pleased with the experience that I ended up purchasing a rehearsal dinner dress from the Watters Encore line.  Kristin helped me pick out the Posey dress, which was everything I wanted in a wedding dress that didn’t quite fit the style of our wedding, but was perfect for our semi-formal rehearsal.  Thank you again for being such a special part of our wedding planning process.  I can’t wait to bring friends back to Madeleine’s!

Meet Our Bride: Gretchen

I never thought I’d be a bridal salon kind of lady. But after my cousin had a great experience at Madeleine’s Daughter – and after I made it through picking out a bridesmaid dress unscathed – I decided to give tradition a try. And I’m darned glad I did. The folks at Madeleine’s daughter are the best of the best: professional, knowledgeable, warm-hearted and funny. They listened to what I wanted, pushed me out of my comfort zone in the most respectful of ways, and somehow managed to dig up the loveliest accessories (thanks Renee!). On top of all that, my alterations process was a dream (thanks Cheryl!). And when my “big day” arrived, as they say, I was actually sad picking up my dress because I knew would be my final visit to the salon.

So cheers to Madeleine’s Daughter, where even the bridal skeptics fall head over heels.

Meet Our Bride: Elizabeth

My cousin was married a year before me and as her Maid of Honor I there for all her dress appointments. She visited many bridal gown stores in the MA/NH area and settled on Madeline's Daughter. Her bridal consultant was wonderful and she helped her to pick the perfect dress. I was so impressed with the amazing staff and gown selection that when I got engaged a couple months later I knew I would be buying my dress from Madeline's Daughter. Not having to drive to all the bridal gown stores in the area made my experience totally stress free. I requested the same bridal consultant my cousin had and she was fabulous. She helped me to narrow down my choices without being pushy. She did a great job staying in my budget and offered fabulous ideas for accessories. I was in LOVE with my dress! Thank you Madeline's Daughter for helping to make my wedding day a dream!

Meet Our Bride: Angela

Madeleine's Daughter was the first bridal salon I visited and I am so glad that I made that choice. From the moment I first walked in I was greeted by warm, friendly, and knowledgeable staff who guided me through the lengthy process of finding the perfect wedding gown. Meghan, my consultant, made my experience fun and relaxing, and selected the perfect gowns for me to choose from  When I found my dream gown I thought my experience was over, but with the help of Ms. Gigi we also found the most beautiful bridesmaid dresses and gowns for the moms! My daughter was my flower girl and we also found a beautiful dress that looked like it was made just for her. Planning a wedding can be stressful but when you have a flawless dress experience, it is one less thing that this busy bride had to worry about. Thank you to all the wonderful ladies at Madeleine's Daughter for a once in a lifetime experience!

Ballgowns at EVERY Budget!

Do you love the idea of a full skirt? Do you love tulle? Or want to be a princess for a day? Well a ballgown may be the perfect dress for you on your big day! As shown in the picture above, Ashley is in Tara Keely gown priced at around $2,500, but you can get the same feeling at any price point. Check them out below!

Setting a budget of under $1,000 can be somewhat limiting, but you wouldn't know it by looking at these two ballgowns above. Both belong to Madeleine's Daughter's Private Collection. The one to the left is all satin; it has a contrasting color sash with sparkle detail. The one to the right has a lace top with full organza skirt.

Priced between $1,000 to $2,000 the two ballgowns above both have a classic feel with a unique twist. The dress to the left is designed by Theia, and features a drop-waist lace bodice with nude lining and then flares out into a fun tulle skirt. We have it pictured with a belt, which further accentuates a waist. The dress to the right is designed by Allure Bridals. The deep sweetheart neckline is extremely flattering and the bling detail at the waist gives it just the right amount of sparkle.

These two beautiful ballgowns are priced between $2,000 and $3,000. Ballgowns at this price point tend to have the traditional fit mixed with a modern edge. The dress to the left by Watters has a beautiful flower textured skirt making it truly unique. The gown to the right by Paloma Blanca has scalloped lace top with exposed boning and very full skirt.

Priced between $3,000 and $5,000 both of the gowns above are very special. The dress to the left is by Amsale and is named Chelsea. It is a made of a material called faille and has scoop neckline gown with pleated skirt, very classic with clean lines. The dress to the right is by Lazaro. It is pictured in a blush color, and is accented by lots of bling on the top and a sparkle layer of tulle on the skirt.

The two gowns above priced over $5,000 may max out most people's budget, but be assured that the details on these dresses make it worth it. The dress to the left is Monique L'huillier. It is made of a  silver lace with sparkle and sheen and has a bow belt. The dress to the right is Marchesa and has spectacular beading all over the top and trailing into the skirt.

At any budget a ballgown makes any wedding day special, when else are you going to be able to wear a dress with such a full skirt and covered in sparkle?!

Let us know! Are you planning to wear a ballgown on your day? Or did you wear one already?

Meet Our Bride: Amanda

From the day I became engaged, there was no question in my mind where I would find my wedding dress.  In April 2012, I returned to my childhood town of Portsmouth, NH and visited Madeleine’s where I had worked my very first “grown-up” job just ten summers before.  I loved the symbolism of coming full circle – there was something so perfect about finding my dress in the shop where I helped countless brides prepare for their big days, all the while dreaming of my own fairytale wedding. Once I had found my Prince Charming, I knew with all my heart that I was fated to find my wedding gown at Madeleine’s.

With my mother and sister by my side and surrounded by my Madeleine’s “family,” I found my wedding gown in record time – in fact, it was the third dress I tried on!  It was truly the epitome of my dream gown: a lace Monique L’huillier ivory beauty with a trumpet skirt and beaded belt.  From the moment I stepped into the sample, I was overwhelmed with emotion.  Seeing my reflection in the mirror sent shivers down my spine.  And months later, when my real dress arrived, it fit like a glove – it was almost as if Monique had made it especially for me!

From start to finish, Madeleine’s went above and beyond to ensure my experience was wonderful. After the initial bridal appointment, my mom and my bridesmaids all returned to buy their dresses here as well – it truly was a family affair!  Juhree, Kerry and Gigi took care of our every need, Elizabeth contacted me frequently to ensure our experience was flawless, and Denise Shaw, our seamstress, was our wedding miracle.  I could not be more grateful for all that Madeleine’s did to contribute to my fairytale come true!
