Meet Our Bride: Michelle

Some of our brides travel quite a distance, not just to purchase the gown, but for alterations as well. Michelle was a bride who came from far away, and we're happy to report that we were worth the trip!

I was living in Alaska and planning my wedding in Maine from there.  I had to fit my alterations into trips I made home for wedding planning and I was a little stressed out about having enough time for it all.  Everyone at Madeline's was always pleasant, happy and helpful.   Best of all they were very calm, which was something I needed during my hurried visits back east.  I especially liked the woman who did my alterations, Gerry.  She was professional, sweet and frank about how the dress looked and what alterations would need to be made.  I felt very comfortable with her.  My dress buying experience was great, and I wish I could do it all again it was so much fun!

Did you come from near or far to shop at Madeleine's Daughter? Either way, we want to hear from you, so email us today and tell us about your experience here!

Meet Our Bride: Melissa

Our brides often become our friends- we we get to experience such a special time in their lives, it's only natural that some close relationships form. Melissa is the perfect example of just such a relationship:

We had such an amazing expereince from day one with McKenzie and all of the staff.  Not only did I buy "the dress" from you; I came back for bridemaid's dresses, maid of honor dress, mother of the bride, my accessories, and ultimately, a second wedding "party" dress.  Right away, McKenzie made my mother, sister, and I feel right at home and as if I was shopping with a friend I had known for years.  Through the process, McKenzie became a friend and she and her now fiance even came to the wedding!

Meet Our Bride: Mandy

We're so happy to introduce you to our bride Mandy who looked absolutely amazing on her wedding day!

My experience at Madeleine’s Daughter was nothing short of wonderful! My bridal consultant, Brandie, was friendly, talented, and incredibly knowledgeable! She made the task of finding a wedding dress fun and easy. When I arrived at Madeleine’s, I wasn’t sure what I wanted but Brandie took the time to really listen to my likes and dislikes, as well as my price range and, sure enough, she helped me find the PERFECT dress! She didn’t stop there though; she put her expertise to work and offered great recommendations for how to complete my look with a veil, jewelry, and hair accessories. Plus, she helped us pick out beautiful bridesmaid dresses! From the moment I walked through the door, I knew I had found some place special. Thank you so much, Madeleine’s Daughter!

Perfection in Peplums!!

Peplums! We've been seeing them in all the fashion magazines, worn by celebs on the red carpet, and now in bridal! Even though they are a current trend, a peplum evokes a timeless sophistication with clean lines, giving any dress a modern twist.

The Amsale dress above does just that!  It has a classic bridal feel, but with a fashionista edge. Think you have the guts to pull off this fashion forward gown? Keep in mind Amsale is pricey, so plan on spending close to $5,000 for this one.

Interested in taking part in this trend, but looking for something more traditional?? Check out this Essence of Australia gown above with the asymetrical peplum-esque layer. This classic lace a-line is made more modern by taking part in this fashion trend. The cost of this gown is just over $2,000, so it is also fits into a more managable price point.

You can even put your bridesmaids in peplums! This sleek Lazaro bridesmaids gown will add sophistication to any wedding. With a price tag of under $300 you could even order it in ivory and wear it yourself for the rehersal dinner or as a reception dress!!

Check out this perfect pair of peplums! This Mikaela lace gown (coming in at under $2,000) paired with a Jim Hjelm cocktail length bridesmaid dress (under $300) looks just devine with out being over-the-top.

How do you feel about the peplum trend? Would you wear it or have your bridesmaids wear it at your wedding?? Tell us what you think!

Meet Our Bride: Lorissa

Lorissa is our featured bride this Saturday and we just know you are going to love her!

When I got engaged, one of first things that came to my mind was my dress. Ever since I was a little girl, I always pictured myself on my wedding day and what I would look like and what the day would be like. When I started looking for wedding gowns, I knew I wanted a lace dress, and something form fitting. Before going to MD I looked at other bridal shops with gowns that were close to what I would have selected.  After looking at them and trying them on, I found they were either way out of my price range or didn't feel special. When I came to MD I had great customer service, with a consultant that got to know me, my family, my preferences on selecting a dress, and my price range. It felt so good to know I had someone there with me who knew the details of the gown and who was there for my best interest. I felt like she listened to what I wanted and brought me many selections to choose from the in the price range I had discussed with her. When I saw the dress, I thought it was not what I wanted after seeing it on the hanger. My consultant encouraged me to still try it on because it was what I said I wanted- it was lace, form fitting, and in my price range. She said it "never looks the same on the hanger as it does on you." Although I was reluctant, I tried the dress on. I immediately knew it was THE DRESS. It made me feel beautiful, special and most importantly, like a bride. It was everything I wanted in my wedding dress. My sister and Mom were with me, and loved it as much as I did. I knew my husband to be would love it too. On our wedding day, I felt amazing in my dress. It accentuated my figure, and fit me like a glove. It made me look like the beautiful bride I wanted to be that day. I had a few small alterations after the purchase, and the seamstress did everything to make it fit and look the way I wanted it to. I had a wonderful experience with MD and was happy to have my gown preserved and cleaned by the company that MD recommended. It was delivered directly to my home for an affordable price. Thanks for the wonderful service and helping me find my dream wedding gown.
