Attendant Gifts…

Friends and family members who agree to be members of your bridal party need to be thanked for their roles in making your wedding day special.  Giving a gift is a great way to emphasize thanks to those people.  they are spending time, money, effort and most of all love as participants in this important day.

Brides and grooms, who think that bridal party gifts are just money clips for the guys and pearl earrings for the girls are in for a surprise.  Today’s couples are eager to make their expressions of gratitude a more personal statement than in the past.  They are spending time working with gift specialists in a jewelry store or with consultants in places that have helped them create a meaningful gift registry.  Or the bridal consultant who helped them with their gown and tuxedo selection.

today’s gifts are mementos, tokens of gratitude for the role they play in the bridal party.  the gifts chosen reflect the importance of that role.  While jewelry that can be worn that day remains popular, the range of attendant gifts has broadened to include glassware, barware, silver items like picture frames, dressing accessories, personal items and personalized stationery.  Groomsmen gifts include well made knives, flasks, and key rings.  Rare coins, poker sets, fine leather goods and jewelry items for both maids and groomsmen remain popular.  What ever gift is chosen, the couple should be  reminded to also get a gift for each of the couples prospective parents.  A meaningful gift can mean the world.

Just remember that thanking those who are involved in your wedding is a special and memorable privilege that will last a lifetime in memories!

A Wedding Planner?

Do you want Wedding Planner and when is the appropriate time to get one?  The first part of the question is something that only you can answer and as for the second part…as soon as possible!  The help you receive from a professional consultant is invaluable and more and more brides are deciding to engage the services of an experienced wedding professional.  Brides who are busy with a demanding career or those whose family in another state find that the advice and assistance of an expert leaves them free to enjoy being a bride.

Most professional planners offer a variety of programs designed to fit your needs.  some specialize in full service planning which involves booking sites, arranging many details with the photographer, florist, music and day of supervision.  Other planners may specialize in a particular area or may be available for “day of” services only.  think about what you need to have done and then interview consultants to provide the service you need.  their service can leave you free to enjoy this special time of your life.

The cost of such services can vary depending on the area, the package you choose and the planner themselves.  However, the fees you pay are likely to be offset by the money and time a wedding planner can save you in the long run.  You’ll want to hire one that comes highly recommended. Diana Ma Weddings Hiring a Certified Wedding Specialist is your first step in planning a stress free and memorable wedding.

So just keep in mind that it’s important you find a planner with whom you feel comfortable, one who has experience and will provide client references for you.  After all this is  your BIG day!  Take a look at the two we have listed, they are both great planners and come highly recommended.

Royal Weddings Past Part 4…

For our last installment of the Royal Weddings Past series at least  until the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton,  we are bringing you 3 great Royal weddings that may not have been as televised as the few in our last edition but are still none the less as great!

First we have the wedding of Princess Anne and Timothy Laurence, of which was Princess Anne’s second marriage, on December 12, 1992.  She wore a simple white suit and fresh flowers in her hair.  Although not your traditional wedding attire, as it was her second marriage, she still looked stunning and regal.

Next we have Prince Edward and Sophie Rhys-Jones on June 19, 1999.  The brides coat style gown was made by a British designer by the name of Samantha Shaw, out of ivory silk organza and silk crepe, with 325,000 crystals and pearls fastened along the neck, full-length sleeves.  A cathedral-length veil composed of silk tulle and sprinkled with crystals was fastened to a diamond tiara of which belonged to the groom's mother, the Queen of England.

Our last Royal couple is Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly who married on May 17th 2008.  The bride wore a gorgeous gown designed by British designer Sassi Holford.  A classically

designed gown with a fitted bodice  covered in lace and beads, with lace shoulders.  A silk triple band around the midsection leading to a graceful A-line skirt  that was made of Italian duchesse silk and French Chantilly lace, with a hand-embroidered and beaded silk tulle veil.  Absolutely stunning.

No matter which Royal Wedding from the past it was, ALL were stunning and regal in their own right!  See you when the next Royal wedding takes place!

The perfect Bridal Bag…

As we all know the bridal gown is the MOST important part of your ensemble on your wedding day however, other accessories are important as well.  The the bridal bag for example.  Yes not all brides will use one but they can be a glorious and delectable addition as well as handy to your ensemble that day!

You should keep a few things in mind when choosing one.  Make sure it won’t clash and be the wrong color.  Most salons are happy to give you a swatch of your gown color, as we do, so don’t be hesitant to ask for one.  You will also want to make sure it a doable size.  Not too small and certainly not too large.  A mid sized clutch that could hold some tissues. some lip-gloss and so on.

Take a look at some of the stunning bags below to see some of the variety that is out there today.

Choosing the best fit for your bridesmaids…

We completely know and understand how difficult it can be to find a bridesmaids dress to flatter all of the bridesmaids in your part.  We have put together a sort of “fit” guide to help you along the way during this process.  From bridesmaids that are on the busty side to bridesmaids that are petite!  Aside from this guide we are more than happy to help you with any of these decisions so don’t be afraid to ask!

Ok so here is our “fit” guide:

Starting at the top left we have:

1-Busty-Watters Style # 8154

2-Apple-WTOO Style # 919

3-Petite-Watters Style # 8459

4-Curvy-Watters Style # 7358

5-Hippy-WTOO Style # 967

6-Slender-Watters Style # 7237

We have one last style that we feel will fit most body types,

This style of dress should fit most body types, with the A-line skirt, strapless bodice that still has a lot of coverage that hits just about the natural waist with a sash to break up the two parts of the gown.  We hope this will help when searching for gowns to fit your bridesmaids, these are just basic guidelines and we can assure you that there are a lot more styles out there to be discovered.
